Looks Like Jay-Z will be making a comeback to the game. This time around, however, it will be the legal way. In a statement, the mogul announced his new multiyear partnership with California-based cannabis company Caliva. Jay-Z will act as the company chief brand strategist with increasing Caliva's outreach efforts.
Besides being the company's brand strategist, he also wants to increase the "representation and participation" of people with criminal records who are prohibited from participating in the newly legal industry. "Anything I do, I want to do correctly and at the highest level," Jay explained. "With all the potential in the cannabis industry, Caliva’s expertise and ethos make them the best partners for this endeavor. We want to create something amazing, have fun in the process, do good, and bring people along the way."
At the moment, the company operates a farm and two Northern California stores. The company is currently focusing on offering steady jobs to people affected by the San Francisco wage gap.
