Looks like the race to becoming Hip-Hop's first billionaire has come to an end. Forbes reports that Jay-Z has officially hit the billion-dollar milestone, his net worth “conservatively totals $1 billion, making him one of only a handful of entertainers to become a billionaire—and the first hip-hop artist to do so.” Not really a surprise is it? Hov holds 14 number one albums, the Rocawear fashion company he launched in 1999, D'Ussé & Bacardi, later buying & rebranding the streaming giant Tidal.

In the Forbes article, Swizz Beatz offered his thoughts on the incredible milestone. "It’s bigger than hip-hop," Swizz explained. "It’s the blueprint for our culture. A guy that looks like us, sounds like us, loves us, made it to something that we always felt that was above us. If he’s a billionaire now, imagine what he’s about to be. Because he’s only just starting.”
Forbes also broke down Jay-Z's fortune, with his art collection alone being worth $70 million dollars, $50 million in real estate, and of course his music catalog worth $75 million (Jay owns his masters) and more.
