2019 seems to be a year of hell for rapper YG. First with the loss of his close friend and rapper Nipsey Hussle who was gunned down in March as we all know. In late June violence struck the rapper again when his also close friend Slim 400 was shot nine times in Compton, he did survive and is recovering.
Also on July 3, a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade registered to the rapper were used in an officer-involved shooting that reportedly left a man dead as he was caught in the crossfire between the men driving the Escalade and the officers.

On Wednesday night, July 3 officers responded to a reported DUI. Officers were in pursuit of the vehicle when the suspects according to Sheriff's officials opened fire on the officers and even a sheriff's helicopter. In photos from the crime scene, a patrol car's windshield can be seen riddled with bullets. One deputy suffered minor injuries after being shot during the pursuit.
Detectives are now investigating whether or not YG was involved, as he owns the registered Cadillac Escalade used in the shooting. However, the rapper himself took to Twitter and denied any involvement in the shooting, claiming he was in the studio all day on July 3, until after midnight on the 4th of July.

I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day. I was there until after midnight on the 4th of July and didn't learn of these events until after they happened!
