Diddy is dragging clothing Company Sean John, the clothing line he helped make famous, back to court. Earlier this week (Feb. 4), new documents were filed in federal court in Manhatten, N.Y. The Hip-Hop mogul is suing Sean John and current company owner, Global Brands Group USA, for $25 million.
GBG USA is accused of collaborating with the U.K. based women's retailer Missguided to create a women's line with the usage of Diddy's name, image, and likeness to push the new brand. Diddy, however, claims they never had permission to use him for it. He even accuses GBG USA of giving fake quotes to the press about his support for the clothing line.
"The SJ/Missguided Agreement was entered into without Mr. Combs’s knowledge, approval, or consent," the lawsuit states. "And Mr. Combs has never endorsed the GBG Collection, which is branded 'sean john x missguided' and 'Sean John x Missguided.' Mr. Combs has neither granted Defendants the right to use his name, image, likeness, or persona in conjunction with the GBG Collection, nor has he agreed to make a public statement or appearance in support of the GBG Collection."
