Ever since hip-hop mogul, Dr. Dre released his '2001' album, he says he feels there has been a clear shift in how rappers approach the process of creating music. In an interview with Beats 1, Dre sat down with his friend Jimmy Iovine, where the two discussed the creative process behind his second LP.
Dre also touched on how things have changed since the beginning, "Right now, I have to really, really search hard to find something I like, as far as hip-hop goes," Dre explained. "I think it's just about the substance. Now it feels like it's a little more quantity over quality. 'Made a song last night, I need to put it out tomorrow." He also added on that, for things to change artists have a hard decision to make, "What are you gonna dedicate yourself to, the art or the money? You know, it's that simple," Watch it down below.
