During Sunday's Super Bowl game, Jay-Z and Beyonce were captured on video sitting during the national anthem. TMZ first posted the story, and it quickly gained traction as celebrities reposted the video and story. Even Colin Kaepernick jumped in on the story, on Instagram he posted a screenshot of the story, with a caption that reads, "I thought we were past kneeling tho?" in reference to Jay-Z's statement last year that action was needed, not just kneeling.Following the backlash from Kaepernick and other celebrities, Jay-Z made an appearance at Columbia University. The mogul was asked if their decision to remain seated during the national anthem were to make a statement, to which Jay responded, "It actually wasn't. Sorry." before continuing, "I'm really just looking at the show. The mics start. Was it too low to start?" Watch it down below.
