This weekend, the Florida based “Rolling Loud Festival” is going down in New York City. The New York City Police Department, however, would like to see the lineup being cut short a few acts. NYPD has requested that five rappers, Casanova, Pop Smoke, Don Q, Sheff G, and 22GZ be blocked from performing at the festival “due to public safety concerns.”
We can only guess that the reason for Casanova’s ban, is last year’s beef with incarcerated rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine. He was reportedly the victim of a shooting at a music video shoot in 2018, and also the now public known altercation/shooting inside of the Barclay’s Center between the two Brooklyn based rappers. The closing lines on the NYPD letter also reads, “The above listed performers have been affiliated with acts of violence citywide. The New York Police Department believes if these individuals are allowed to perform, there will be a higher risk of violence.” Watch it down below.
